Honeycomb Beat has something of a deceptive title, I think. I was expecting a puzzle game like Meteos or Luminesce where music is a part of the puzzle game, but I got something completely different. In the game, your goal is to change tiles to the same color. Touching one causes all of the ones around it to change in a honeycomb pattern. There's a puzzle mode which I recommend playing first, as it helps you get the hang of the game. Then, there's the arcade style mode. I find it sort of enjoyable, but also very challenging. After putting a few hours into this game, I'm not really any better at it. I've been able to beat the arcade mode, but I can't do the bigger combos, which I believe unlocks more of the game. All in all, I'm not upset that I bought the game, but I'd only recommend it to people who are hardcore puzzle gamers. It's not something that I feel someone who wasn't incredibly into puzzles would enjoy.Read full review
Not an easy game, but then you don't want a brain engaging game to be easy. The tutorial's not so good, but if you pay attention to the way tiles flip, you'll be able to figure it out yourself anyway. It's a challenging game and I don't give up easily, which means I can play this game forever in one sitting.
I bought this game a few weeks ago and have enjoyed trying to beat the levels. It is a challenging game with several play modes. The premise of the game is easy, you touch the comb pieces in certain spots and they turn over get all the same color and you beat that line.It sounds easier that it is at least for me. The screen also has dazzling light display and plays catchy music. If you want a challenge buy this game.
Wanted something simple to help me get to sleep without disturbing anyone. I dislike that I wish it were in color's. Also, that my 6 yr old grandchild finds it hard to follow. And she plays lots of games on Wii and playstation. So, you'd think she would understand. Similar to Bejeweled, but without the pretty colors; And who doesnt like the pretty colors?
I received a Nintendo DS as a Christmas present. I purchased this game to go along with others I received. I find this game very hard to pick up on. It does give hints and instructions but I still find it very hard to play and sometimes very frustrating. Not what I expected.
