This cable is not only the perfect compliment to one of the finest game systems ever, but a necessary addition as well since with many of today’s newer flat screen TVs the games reference signal is not powerful enough to be recognized on the component input. This cable takes care of that issue and allows you to use the superior HDMI input without any other additional power sources needed. Great High Definition cables.
Games are crystal clear some games may show some glitches like Hydro Thunder don't play well. Vampire Chronicle colors flickering a little... but overall better than the av composite cable.

Best budget option for Dreamcast in HD on original hardware
While I have not seen the output from doing an HDMI mod on the original Dreamcast I can say for sure that the results with the Hyperkin cable are fantastic! Very clear picture, and much easier to get than an original VGA box. Some games won't be compatible, a list can be found online as to which game support VGA which the HDMI cable uses to upscale. Some games you can work around by leaving the video cable unplugged till after you hear the game boot then plugged in.
