If you have 2WD this makes it better than 4WD with open differentials - former XJ owner.
Easy to install - tip: rotate the inner disc to where the ratchet teeth are milled, that is where the c clip on an 8.8 Ford slips right in easy peasy. Noisy? No worse that flat tappet or steel tube headers - and only on tight 90 turns. Plus, it goes away with some miles on it. For how I drive the Mud Claws howl louder at 65. Gets 100% of the tire grip you pay for, not one spinning wheel and the other useless. If you plan on running oversized tires and doing abusive things to your vehicle, you need to step up and buy the correctly sized axle (10" R&P bro), not stuff one of these in. I'm on stock 17" rims, the wet grass in my yard is more difficult than snow. Now I don't have to mow over 10' slots I've cut in the turf - it walks right up 8' in 50' slope with no issues. Do not I repeat do not install this in a rear ford 8.8 limited slip carrier it will bang and slip and provide in reliable traction and lock up.
