I am retired and making models is an enjoyable past time that allows me to investigate the engineering development of some of the models I make. As a result I can simulate my mind and fill my time. The cost of two models allows me to make one standard and one modified at a reasonable price with in my pension constraints. I am not a gamer.

Armourfast gives you two 1:72 models of the Cromwell for less than the cost of a usual big name plastic kit. They are very simple to construct and not greatly detailed, but the mouldings are very clean and the necessary detail sharp and accurate. Probably intended for making up cheap mass armies for role playing, I used mine and a few bits of scrap for a conversion into a Centaur anti-aircraft version and a heavily camouflaged 'Operation Blackcock' Cromwell. The cheap cost allowed me to chop, glue and convert without worrying about the initial expense. The wheels and tracks are a one piece mould and the tracks are very simple, needing a bit of extra detail to be added with a craft knife and file, but the turret does come with the option of having both top hatches with their doors open or closed. Add a few accessories, a wireless aerial perhaps and a nice weathered paint scheme with some unit numbers and regiment insignia, (no decals are included), and you are onto a very good, cheap and worthy brace of Cromwells. Highly recommended.Read full review
