I recommend getting a MacBook pro if you are a composer / musician using DAWs and pluggins etc However I don't recommend the 2011 17inch version for one BIG reason This Macbook pro had video card issues where by the time I took it to an service center I had the cost of $1200.00 invested in it beyond the price I paid for it It was my fault trying to save a little money and should have went the NEW route when it comes to Apple products. It has a design problem with the video system which if not fixed renders the laptop useless. I took it to one of the best rated Mac service centers in the country and even then they had to completely replace the logic board. When they cringed at the mention of the video defect I was concerned.Save your nerves and money and get something more current. WONDERFUL MACHINE, IF....
....one can adjust to small text. Yes, text can be enlarged, but the default (visual) size is about half of what's in the 15.4 inch MacBook Pro model I own. Maybe I'm missing something, but seem to remember a similar set of comments from other users of the machine that should never have been discontinued..... especially if the software were to have been rewritten regarding visual text size.
