    ho scale athern motor mount pads review

    These pads are an exact replacement of original mounts on certain athern switcher locomotives that over time become worn, due to removing the motor for replacement and rework of any type.. they will keep the motor stable in place to avoid shorts in operating your locomotive on your layout,, weather on a dc layout or an added decoder install for dcc operation. .

    1/2 Motor Mounting Pad.

    Is it durable? Yes, but over time they get hard and brake. That takes a few years, unless the motor gets too hot, then that will also effect the life of the mounting pad. Do I recommend it? Yes. You need it to keep the motor in place. Is it entertaining? No. How ever if you do not have it, your motor will not power you engine.

    Restores operation to factory

    These new motor mounts have restored several of my older Athearn Blue box locomotives back to a secured balanced and smooth operation statis. I removed several cracked, dry rotted and crumbling mounts and replaced with these new ones. The older mounts have lasted for years but the new installation really makes a difference. I recommend these parts if you are going to keep your older Diesels in service.
