  • Talicas are excellent compact lightweight reels

Although I haven't had the opportunity to use my new Talica 16-II, I have fished the Talica 12-II, which is slightly narrower. Talicas are smooth casting reels with good stopping power (drag 40 lbs.) and torque. I also own a Talica 10- II which is great for school size tuna, yellowtail, and white seabass.

  • Solid and I’d buy it again. It’s getting me back into saltwater surf fishing!

Well made, solid, two speed, lever drag control. Holds a lot of line, especially if you use hollow core spectra. If you need 1000 yards get the Shimano Tiagra 50W. Both are great! Tiagra is a bit too heavy to cast, Talica will be good for deep sea or surf fishing.

  • Heavy Duty That Casts

Drag is consistently smooth, strong, and dependable. If your looking for a lever drag reel that has power, speed, torque, and a good free-spool the talica 2 speed is the way to go. They aren't cheap and you can tell when you use it. Got a 16ii topped with 80lb Jerry brown to 20 ft 80lb jinkai flouro for targeting 100-250lb+ bluefin.

  • Ha no experienced it yet. I will be using this reel for Tuna, my plan is feed the reel with 80# spectra and 40# mono top shot.

Well it looks great I haven’t used it yet but I Weill when the 2022 start. Planning to Fered it with 80# spectra and top shot 40# mono ready for bluefin Tunas.

  • Great reel

Works very well. Lever drag vs star drag if you like one vs the other great. Both work. Added trigger style clamp. Fash shipping, plentry of line capacity and tons of drag.

  • SMOOOOOTH POWER

You know it is a quality product just holding it in your hands. Put a 64# YFT on the other end and the quality is even more evident. I have an Accurate and a Saltiga and this reel is as good as either of these.

  • Great reel

This reel is awsome wench for bottom fish. My version was the JDM one but exactly the same as USA versions

  • Sweet Reel

Hard to beat these Shimano reels. I have many different sizes in conventional frames and I am always impressed with the smoothness. You pay for that!
