The lesson is to make sure you thoroughly check the pins of any used CPU before inserting it into the sockets. Booted up just fine after the correction and works as expected. I would describe it as very well packed, it also arrived with some thermal compound however I opted to use my own, in a pinch it would likely work without issue. It also arrived with an alcohol wipe to clean the CPU but mine arrived clean.
