  • Good phone W/lots of capability!

This is the 2nd "Dash" phone I've had. I usually choose it because it costs less than a Blackberry or Droid. In my opinion its not on the Droid's level but pretty close to the Blackberry Curve. It is a good 3G smart phone, screen is bright and clear and its wifi and video capability is very good. Screen is smaller than others (some) but very good quality and sharpness. It uses Windows Mobile, so it operates similar to a Windows PC-I think making it more easily usable for 1st time users. It features a massive amount of control-from wallpaper and fonts to the duration of display and back light timeouts. So far the battery life of this one is much better than the previous generation of the HTC Dash but might be an issue for this model after some age. My previous Dash had less than an ...

  • HTC DASH 3G review

I've had this phone now for about 3 months. I really like it compared to my old phone. I enjoy that the text messaging setup has an instant messaging feel. When you have a conversation with someone, you can easily scroll through the conversation. I also love the wifi. The phone has a lot of nice features, I wished however it had a radio since my last phone did. Some things I don't like about this phone is that it is slow at times and freezes up. It also uses up battery fast and the phone definitely takes time to get used to and trying to figure out where things are located.

  • Think of it as a relief pitcher or spare tire!

Even though phones are sort of old news within a 6 month time spand, the HTC Dash is likeable, does the basics well, not too flashy, no touch screen and such. Since no cell phone company has all the airwaves covered it's good to have a secondary one on hand. Since this phone is unlocked one can use it on several competing networks. So essentially you make the call! This phone has wi-fi and 3g capabilities which allows the user some connection options. Even though 3g is horrendously bad, and blown way out of propotion as compared to wi-fi and 4g it's ok to use in a pinch. This is especially the case when the other options are not available. Older model phones are well suited to use on prepaid calling plans. Additionally, Windows 6.5 is buggy and according to T-mobile's tech support team the ...

  • Use caution when buying this phone

This was probably not the right phone for me, but I'm limited to Tmobile due to poor cell reception in my neighborhood. I'm most disappointed about the back cover. It is literally impossible to remove by a person with a normal size hand. I finally ended up taking it to the store to open for me so I could insert the battery and my sim. The instructions say to insert your fingernail in the notched cover release on the bottom of the phone and lift it up and away. All that does is rip your fingernail out. I've broken 3 fingernails so far with this method. I later tried carefully removing with various knives which only served to scratch and chip the cover. Looks like I'll be making another trip to Tmobile if I want to insert a memory card, and if I ever need a hard re-boot I'm just out ...

  • Overall $42 for this product is worth it, for what I need it for.

This phone does its basic function as a phone, but being a smartphone it is surprisingly limited on what it can/can't do. As a first time purchaser of a smart phone, i like its overall layout and physical look, but not the same as its system design. The menu's are very hard to navigate, you can only add limited details on contact (only 1# & name), only has 2 alarms, and a very limited functioning tracking ball with right/left clicks almost hard to figure out. What it does have is: wifi connectivity, bluetooth connectivity, email setup with client/server connection (which i realize is a huge selling point especially for business applications, just not for me) and office mobile, tomobiles almost useless gps system "telenav" & a very good quality camera to record and take pictures.
