    Good set of restored Gene Autry B westerns

    This is a collection of Gene Autry B westerns. I bought this set for one movie - "Cowboy and the Indians." This movie was the first screen pairing of Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels (in supporting roles), just before they took on the roles of the Lone Ranger and Tonto. The movie is fairly typical of its ilk in script, performance, and cinematography, but unusual/ahead of time in its positive, sympathetic depiction of American Indians/Native Americans. (And they even work in Gene singing "Here Comes Santa Claus!") The restoration is good, and the bonus features (such as Gene and Pat Butram's TV hosting comments) add interest. These movies are not great cinema; they are just what they try to be, functioning much as TV series episodes in the pre-TV era. For someone ...

    Nice collection for Gene Autry fans!

    My husband and I are big singing cowboy fans and Gene Autry is my favorite. The quality of this collection is very good. These are some of the later movies, not really my favorites, but a worthwhile collection none the less. This and collection #1 have bonus video of Gene and Pat Buttram reminiscing about their movie making days. We enjoy watching that part, too.
