Whether you're shooting stills or video, the Sony A58 is ideal for sports and wildlife. Choose between single-shot, automatic, or continuous autofocus. The lightweight, compact zoom lens can cover any shot from 18mm to 55mm.The high-contrast OLED electronic viewfinder gives you an accurate, real-time display of photos and videos right as you take them, all with a 100 % field of view. The display already factors in any settings or exposure adjustments you've made. The viewfinder features 1,440,000 dots for incredible precision and clarity. In addition, the Sony A58 camera features a 2.7-inch LCD screen with 460,800 dots for viewing images and menus. The LCD screen is hinged at the bottom, so it can tilt down about 55 degrees and up about 135 degrees, allowing you to frame high- or low-angle shots.This type of Sony SLR SLT-A58 cameras let you create extra-wide panoramic images, or they can automatically crop the borders for a much tighter, pro-style composition. Choose from 11 modes and 15 effects that apply advanced processing techniques to increase the visual impact of your videos and pictures.     Excellent DSLR Camera

    This camera has been amazing and has far exceeded my expectations. Although it is considered an "outdated" model, it definitely still holds up to current DSLR standards and stands it's ground with cameras I have previously owned. Previously, the Nikon D5300 was my go-to for almost every type of photoshoot, and I have to admit that this camera produces very good image quality, has good battery life, and is loaded with features that do not disappoint in the slightest. I definitely recommend this to anyone just starting out, or well into their photography careers and/or hobby. For the price, you won't find much else better.

    Great entry level camera, minus the grainy EVF and LCD screen during live view(for both lcd and evf)

    Great product, I bought it as a backup to my special Sony Alpha A57! I took 1 star off because the EVF and live view was grainy, does not affect the quality captured images or videos. I was literally shocked when I noticed how much grainy both live view are! Both viewing methods have more grains than my A57. Additionally the micro hdmi seems faulty sometimes it wont recognize a connected monitor unless I apply some/minor tension on the micro hdmi port, pressure from the front of the camera to make the micro hdmi slight lean towards the back of the camera(towards the lcd screen). The A58 feels faster, lighter, and has more pixels (16 v 20) than my A57. The A57 has a less grainy live view for both EVF and lcd screen, plus the lcd screen has more viewing angle/position versus the A58's up ...

    Great for beginner

    Great for beginner. It has almost all of the pro functions. Also has easy to use helpers to make your pictures great. Lens is very versatile. The best thing is being an a-mount makes it so easy to find lenses to use from other brands especially the old Minolta ones. If you want to take great pictures as an amateur without breaking the bank, this is the DSLR for you.

    Great deal for me

    As an amateur photographer, I was looking for a camera that would accept the old Minolta A-mount lenses, and I found it. This camera works with the 5 other lenses that I have from Minolta. I just couldn't see wasting them or selling them off at a cheap price. At a recent dance review for my granddaughters, I started with the 17-55mm lens that came with it. Only to find out that where we were sitting was a bit too far away. While clarity was great, and pics were perfect, the distance was not good. I switched to my 70-200mm lens, and that was what it needed to take great pics at the distance we were. Still able to pan back and get the whole group, but also able to get the close ups of my granddaughters. Well please with the performance of the camera. Action shots are great. Worth ...

    Well worth it for me!

    This camera is the third Sony I now own and the 6th one I have owned over the years. I couldn't be happier with the Sony system and I am absolutely a fan of the mirror-less format. These are great cameras and easy to use for anyone that has even a rudimentary understanding of photography. Well worth the investment as far as I am concerned.
