    Denon 3806 dinosaur but love it!

    Arrived on time well packaged unit as described in fantastic shape for age. I ordered remote for unit fairly easy to figure out great power my Klipsch tower speakers are loving it. Sounds great with music or movies replacing a Onkyo tx nr 818 that had Onkyo's chip issue with DTS network chip. Was going to use it till bought new amp but believe i will make this 3806 a permanent replacement could not be more happy.

    Denon AVR 3806

    Did not perform, volume control did not work. I had Geek Squad out 3 times to make it work, with no success. Wound up buying a new unit and Geek Squad took the receiver to be recycled.

    Very complicated

    The Denon 3806 avr has awesome sound and specifications.I got an extremely good price on ebay for a very nice used receiver. My only real complaint is a very complicated manual and remote.There are some very nice features,however bringing them up takes an advanced degree in engineering. I have other Denon equipment that I am very pleased with,and once I figure all the features on this I am sure I will feel the same about this unit. I upgraded from a Harmon Kardon avr 240 which was a very good quality receiver, but even with my tin ear I can notice the difference.I am running JBL Balboa subwoofer and center speaker with Polk Audio RM85 satelite speakers and this pushes the effortlessly.

    The Biggest bang for your buck in stereo receivers !

    Nothings finer than buying and owning some Denon audio. When it comes to quality and sound Denon is top dog. This stereo is a beast its very heavy nearly 50lbs dont put it on any cheap wood shelf. It does tend to run a little on the hot side. Denon should have built in cooling fans on this monster. The remote is pretty complex, although a huge improvement over the AVR- 3805 Overall I rate this AVR-3806 a 9/10. Lots of power capabilities beyond the average audio enthusiast. A true audiophile owners dream. Lots of bass and endless power. Im running a massive set of Cerwin Vega speakers. It runs them hard and clean. I also love all the preamp out puts this stereo has. It has preamplifier outs for every channel if you wanted to bi-amp it. such as in my case, im bi-amping the front. L/R ...

    Denon A/V Receivers are the best surround sound receivers ever made.

    Denon receivers are in my opinion the best ever made. The surround sound is perfect, the set up is easy, and you cant argue with the set up mic. The 120 Watt rating is very conservative, I have yet to run out of volume. This is the second Denon I have owned. My old AVR-2800 just started acting up but still works in January 2013. That is almost 17 years of perfection.
