What I like about this coffee maker is it's design and features. I love that you can pour cups with the press of a button. Great capacity too! It does however take some time to adjust to my typical brewing characteristics. What I mean is. I had a Mr. Coffee $30 coffee maker for a year. Liked it a lot too. Right away - 6 scoups of coffee - makes 8 cups...perfect. This Cuisinart unit takes a little more time to find out the right amount...not sure if it's because its a pressurized brew or what. I haven't perfected it yet. But I like it just the same. One thing I did notice and that I'll find spills sometimes under it or behind it. I didn't know what caused it. I'm thinking that if it's still hot and you lift the to lid, all the moisture/steam buildup/etc drips down the back of the unit and onto my counter. Not a fan of that at all. Overall - great unit. Lots of compliments. Great features. I would recommend!Read full review
This is my second of these. The first was a new one that lasted about a year then quit working. I debated a while before buying another, the price is a lot for just one year. But, it is a great machine! I decide to save some money and get a refurbed one. It makes a good brew and is easy to use, easy to clean and keeps it hot and fresh for 4 hours. As great as it is, there are a couple bad points. It tends to drip water when the lid is lifted to refill, so a waterproof counter is a must. Also, if you use a large/tall mug (as I do) it is almost impossible to see in the mug when filling to tell when it is full. I solved this problem with a small LED light mounted at the back of the tray area. Works great with a gentle push of the mug to turn it on or off. I had it on the first one and transferred it to the new one so it has lasted over a year.Read full review
Not only does this coffee maker look great, it makes a great cup of coffee. The top is hinged on the back so that when it is opened, one can access all interior portions of the maker. Water reservoir has side view cup indicator for a maximum of 12 cups. Has mechanism for charcoal filter. Comes with optional gold coffee filter, but will likewise hold a plain filter, that rests inside the removable filter basket that is both deep and wide enough to accommodate finely ground coffee without backing up. The coffee reservoir is likewise removable for easy cleaning (both the filter basket and the coffee reservoir have handles for easy removal). Water flows through a showerhead type of delivery system, which can be easily cleaned when the top is opened. The brew time is perfect - neither too fast nor too slow, so the cup it delivers is consistently good. Of course, no longer having to deal with coffeepots with inadequate spouts that spill while pouring is an absolute Godsend!! The drip tray and grill below the dispensing area are removable as well, making clean-up quite easy. Within two weeks after purchasing one of these for home use, I bought one to replace the dribbling-spouted pot at my office. Three friends have now likewise purchased this maker based on my recommendation and having used it in my home or office and I've given one as a gift. I'd buy this coffee maker again and again!!Read full review
The Cuisinart DCC-2000 12 Cup Coffee Maker is a well-built easy to use coffee maker that brews excellent tasting coffee! Cleanup is a snap and preparing and setting it up is very fast and easy. This is actually a beautiful machine with the polished stainless steel and sturdy black plastic. This fits just right under my kitchen cabinet with just enough clearance. I love the coffee level gauge on the front keeping you informed on the available coffee left to drink. I think this is a coffee lovers best choice and the gold tone filter eliminates the hassle of using paper filters. The press to serve lever is a big convenience and fills the cup quickly. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good cup of coffee!
The style is great. It can fit in many kitchens and I love the features offered. Cleaning is a little difficult because the container that holds the coffee has several nooks making it hard to reach with your hands. The good part is, it has a carrying handle and is removable The brass filter is a great feature making it very easy to clean and reuse. Now, the brewing part: Filling the coffee maker is difficult. You will need extra lighting since the entire interior is black and the fill opening is small. Care needs to be taken not to miss the opening or you will get water in the heating chamber. I measured the temperature of the water and it read 185 degrees. This temperature is too low for brewing. Temperature should be between 191 to 205 degrees. I called Cuisinart Customer service a total of 4 times and the representatives argued with me each time. The last person I called asked me if the coffee was hot enough to drink and then told me there was nothing wrong with it. Since I am a qualified repair technician in many things, I asked to a service manual. The Cuisinart service rep told me they don't sell those because people will copy and make the coffee maker. The 2 to 4 cup feature is pretty much worthless. The hot water coming out of the spray head doesn't reach all the coffee and you will end up drinking a very weak cup of coffee.Read full review
