Great purchase
I got tired of replacing the plastic vacuum cleaners every two years so I took the plunge. My parents always had good luck with Kirbys so I thought I'd give one a try. Got this one reconditioned. It looked brand new. Performs great. Self propelled feature is great. You can tell it is built to last. Very happy with the purchase.

The ONLY vacuum you should EVER own!
Just bought this vacuum. We had a Dyson Animal and 2 dogs and 2 kids. I thought my Dyson cleaned well but the Kirby showed it up. I vacuumed my livingroom 2 days in a row, then vacuumed with the Kirby just 15 mins after vaccuming with my Dyson and the Kirby pick up a ton of dirt that the Dyson didn't. The Kirby is a deep clean vacuum whereas the Dyson just cleans the top layer of the carpet. The Kirby has a TON of attachments! I now use my vacuum to dust the blinds, the tv, etc. Though it is heavy, it is still easy to use. For my stairs, the hose is super long and I don't have to hold the vacuum while vacuuming the stairs with an attachment in the other hand. It also comes with shampoo attachments so you can get stains out. We had a few stains in the carpet that I have used carpet cleaner ... Just bought this vacuum. If a salesperson is selling it to you, look up the price on your computer right there and haggle their price down! I don't regret overpaying as silly as that sounds because this vacuum is awesome! As a side note, my mother in law has had her Kirby for 30 years, my aunt has had hers for 20+, my aunt in law also has one, and I'm trying to talk my mom into one! This is the only vacuum you should own! My carpet looks brand new, no joke!

My opinion! Kirby is #1 in vacuums!!!
I bought this Kirby Sentria G10 for my Mother in-law. I have an older G6 model that I wouldn't trade for anything. I could not see much of a difference between the two models except some of the trim design. The features are practically the same. I don't think anyone could go wrong buying a Kirby of any model. I wasn't the type of person that would go and invest in an expensive vacuum cleaner because I actually thought a vacuum was a vacuum. My husband allowed a Kirby salesman inside to demonstrate the G6 one evening. We had a fairly new, top of the line Kenmore vacuum at the time. The salesman had my husband vacuum about a 2x3 foot area on our carpet with 10 swipes with the Kenmore. He then had my husband vacuum the same spot with the Kirby with just two swipes. The Bag filter was removed ... I bought this Kirby Sentria G10 for my Mother in-law. I have an older G6 model that I wouldn't trade for anything. We have 2 sets of friends that bought the Rainbow vacuum cleaners. They are great machines also, but you have to deal with filling them with water and it is aggravating moving up and down steps. My husband can be clumsy at times so we weren't sold on a Rainbow. We have recommended the Kirby to other family and friends and no one has complained about the Kirby.

The best vacuum ever made!
I have used every supposed high quality vacuum made and have never been impressed with their performance, most work well at first but soon fall short after some real world usage.I have always wanted a Kirby and now that I finally was able to own my own, am impressed with what they can do. I have used them in the past and new they were the machine to own, but the price put them out of reach for me. Some of the extras and features are not as important to me, but as a floor and carpet cleaner, this is the pinnacle. Since I was able to purchase one in a competitive auction format, it took out the huge sales commission margin associated with the Kirby name. They have always had a superior product, which allowed the high end pricing. Being able to buy the machine for $539.00 instead of the ... I paid over $500.00 for a Dyson DC-17 in 2006 and it is an inferior product not worth the money or the headache of constantly repairing or maintaining it. Kirby has earned their reputation as a quality,yet overpriced retail product. Now with the realistic pricing, it is the obvious choice for me.
