About this product

Product Information

The fourth game in the annual GameBreaker series for the PlayStation includes 144 Division I-A teams based on the 1998 season, 60 classic teams from yesteryear and multiple college bowl games to heighten the atmosphere. As with the last two games in the series, NCAA GameBreaker 2000 features polygonal graphics, 3D modeled stadiums and multiple camera angles in an attempt to recreate a TV-style presentation.

Since this is a college game, you can expect team-specific playbooks that differ from those used in the NFL. These playbooks were designed by UCLA Head Coach Bob Toledo, which is a first in the series. Other new features include user-controlled celebrations and the ability to play multiple seasons in the Career Mode, where you can recruit blue chip prospects to help your team compete in the years that follow. Who knows? Maybe your star freshman has the talent to make the All-Freshmen team!

Of course, recruiting a player doesn't always mean he'll attend your team's school. If he has "GameBreaker" ability, meaning his attributes are well above average, the player will attract the attention of competing schools. While you have the opportunity to select one of five recruits for a total of nine positions, you'll have to wait until the "Letter of Intent Day" to see who has decided to enroll.

Disappointed with the results? Not to worry, you can create a walk-on player to mold into a Heisman Trophy winner! Users can set a player's jersey number, position, height and weight as well as his attributes using slider bars. The game also lets you customize your own schedule, choose from four difficulty levels, adjust the frequency of penalties and toggle injuries. In addition, NCAA GameBreaker 2000 features four controller settings, "Easter Eggs" that change the way the game is played and a Play Editor that gives you the opportunity to create that secret weapon to win the game.

Besides the aforementioned Career Mode, the game offers a Tournament Season, Fantasy League (where you can assign points for touchdown passes, rushing yards, field goal kicks and other accomplishments), Scrimmage (practice) and Bowl Season (where you try to win as many games as possible to get invited to a Bowl Game). Conference Standings, Top 25 polls, Heisman Trophy votes and various other statistics can be tracked during a season or tournament series, but you'll need a memory card in order to save them. This memory card can also store your college senior so he can be drafted into NFL GameDay 2000!
