    Once is not enough...!

    I bought my first BlackBerry Curve 8530 about 6, maybe 7, years ago. When it finally started dying on me, I started my search for the exact same BlackBerry. When I discovered it was no longer made, then I started looking for the very closest thing I could find (i.e., conveniently small and TRULY "pocket-sized," a TRUE keyboard feature--and not a touch-screen keyboard--etcetera), as well as a phone with which I could get as great a calling plan value as I was getting with Virgin Mobile ($35 per month!). Sadly, in the interim, I was starting to feel as if I would be forced to buy a larger, touch-screen phone with a higher monthly plan. But never one to give up, I gave it one last ditch effort and in searching the internet for PRESENT phones which may be SIMILAR, I actually found the EXACT ...

    Awesome phone!

    I love how easy this phone is to use, while still being a great smartphone. The ability to link your phone to your social accounts (facebook, myspace) is great. I also use this phone for chatting via yahoo messenger, and that is great; many more options make it like chatting on a computer instead of a phone. The email feature is good too; the only improvement I would make is the ability to see ALL mail, not just what has been newly sent to you. TONS of free applications on BlackBerry App World make this phone a great buy. The only thing I dislike about it is that there is no way to "lock" the alt key for typing in numbers nor is there a way to "lock" the uppercase key for typing in all capitals. The battery could last a little longer, i.e. had half a battery and it only lasted about ...

    My 3rd Blackberry, my 1st Virgin phone

    I used to have T-Mobile, but needed to downsize my phone expenses. When I found out about Virgin's $25 for unlimited messaging & data & 300 minutes of calls, I pricked up my ears - I haven't needed thousands of minutes of talk time in over a year, communicate mostly with text messages, & WANTED a data plan but it was always too expensive before. Since I had a Blackberry 8320 before, & the reveiws for the 8530 were good, I went for that. I like the trackpad better than the trackball, which had started malfunctioning from getting squished in my back pocket (oops). The QWERTY keyboard is fine & feels good, though if you get a hard cover like I did you'll find it a bit difficult to press the outside buttons. The screen looks great, nice & bright.     My Introduction to Blackberry - Not Bad!

    Having finally forayed into the smart phone world, I must say that I have no complaints about the Blackberry Curve 8530. While it is not a top of the line Blackberry, it is quite efficient. I can email, surf the web, Tweet, make calls, send texts, send BBM's (although I haven't mastered that yet) and listen to music all from the same device. That makes it indispensible at times. While the browser can sometimes be slow, depending on what you're looking to pull up, I like the fact that information is at your fingertips. So far, no disappointments! It was a good buy!

    A decent blackberry for the cheap.

    Great deal for the price. Though when I activated via internet, I had to call to activate the blackberry package through customer service. Which took three attempts to do... The phone has poor battery life compared to any Blackberry or even the Iphone that I had in my posession. It seems the OS glitches out and I had to do a manuel reboot or pull the battery out a couple of times. But other than that, it's a great phone.
