    Moving, gripping, great film

Great film. Very moving and interesting. Not very well known film with a great cast. Can take a little while to get into the plot, but totally worth it! Great price, used Dvd arrived in good time and really good condition.

  • BOBBY

I am an avid watcher of 'Political History' films and have aquired a large collection over the years which include amongst them the more well known 'J.F.K.', '13 DAYS', 'All the Presidents Men', 'Nixon', so I did wonder if another film about American political history could compete. I needn't have worried though, Emilio Estevez has written and directed a masterpiece. He has approached the tragic assassination of Bobby Kennedy from a totally different angle. Focusing on 5th. June and on the ordinary people whose lives and cultural issues intersected these final hours of 'Bobby',in whose hands they placed their hopes and dreams of a fairer and more just society! Informative, atmospheric, and an excellent reflection of the time in which it was set. '5'star entertainment and a joy to watch!

  • The hotel where Bobby was assassinated.

This movie will not appeal to people who like action in their movies. It is nearly all talk for an hour and a half between characters staying or working at the hotel on the day when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated there in 1967. TV footage of the assassination is then woven into the movie, and the aftermath and effect the assassination has on the hotel characters is shown. The hotel characters are based on people who were actually there at the time. A worthy movie which I enjoyed, but it won't appeal to everybody.

  • Bobby

All star cast about the lives of people in the hotel Bobby Kennedy was shot in, tense drama style and some very funny scenes well shot and told with a serious undertale to the story and the lives it affected,Anthoney Hoppkins delivers another star performance as we come to expect from him

  • Bobby - Robert Kennedy - June 1968 - by Emilio Estevez

This film, which received a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, captures the hotel atmosphere well and shows how different types of people regarded each other at that time - their hopes, invested in one man, Bobby Kennedy, younger brother to John & Teddy Kennedy. Especially I like the hyperreality - how actors are spliced with real footage to create a more complete guide to the times. The back of Bobby's head is played in some scenes by an unknown actor, but all views of Bobby's face are genuine archive footage of the man himself.
