It's the curcumin that is the active ingredient in tumeric that is singled out here. Thorne Research gets around the absorption difficulty of taking tumeric by using curcumin phytosomes that release in the intestines for much greater absorption-uptake. The health benefits of tumeric or curcumin are well detailed on the Web - just look it up. Only a few make the curcumin version and Thorne one of them.
