If you like the N64 multi-player game, you can play that right away. However, if you were like me and wanted to play all the new mini-games with your friends, plan on spending several hours in the 1 player game unlocking them. It has taken 15 plus hours just to unlock 1/2 of them. I bought the game for the multiplayer format and have had to spend a lot of hours playing the very long one player game. Just to give some insight, when you start the game for the first time in story mode, there is a 15 minute cartoon that you can't skip. We all know this game wasn't designed to have the best graphics or sound, so you can imagine how this cartoon plays out. Plus several times within the game you are forced to watch 3-5 minute short films. It's agony! Either way, I gave it a good rating for the orignal format, and the mini games (once you get them unlocked!) are fun for a group to play.Read full review
I bought this game, having played Mega Bomberman on Sega Genesis when I was much younger. It was a great party game back then, and it remains a great party game now! This game is a continuing source of fun and hilarious hijinks for everyone that is exposed to it! The graphics remain true to the original concept and the gameplay is easy to learn but difficult to master. The AI in this game is a bit too difficult to defeat at times, but I didn't buy it as a single player experience. I was well aware that this game shines as a multiplayer challenge. When my friends are planning a get-together, I always get a last minute text reminding me to bring my copy of Bomberman. This game is so highly requested at parties, I may just cop-out and buy a copy for my friends so I can save myself the hassle of transporting it everywhere. This game is excellent for groups of people who aren't 'gamers' and the simplicity of it puts those with less skill on a somewhat even playing field with true video game players. It takes so little time to get the basics that within an hour, everyone in the room is having a great time blowing one another up. The multiplayer matches can also be set to lower numbers of wins and power-ups customized in such a way that even in a room of 20 players, noone waits for more than 10 minutes for a chance to control one of the giant headed japanese sprites. I will say that, if and when you order this game, take some time to try the single player modes to unlock more of the games characters and familiarize yourself with the controls. Because the only thing more fun than playing this game with your friends is playing this game with your friends and winning!Read full review
You have to be a lover of Bomberman to enjoy this. From the original to the new design of the single player all out run around world. This game has it all. I had not seen this game in the stores, and when I got rid of all my GameCube stuff, I was upset without Bomberman. I was extremely happy to see this game out there, and when I got it, surprised that it has the Original Bomberman on the game, with a little twist. The random mode on the Original is just all out funny. This game is great for kids and adults. Sometimes with the Wii, it is nice to be able to just sit down and play a game as a family again. Love this game.
This game promises to be an exiting, updated, larger memory version of an old classic. Instead, it relies on a very old and annoying style of set up where all dialogue is in a very lengthy text readout. I was 20 minutes into the game setup, and still had not played a single bomberman screen. In fact, after three sittings with this game, I still have not found a bomberman game screen. I did find the multi player game, which is fun and has some of the updated features I was seeking. My children quickly lost interest in this game and I haven't seen it in the wii since the day after Christmas. 'Nuff said.
Our Family tries many different Video Games. There are a lot I have enjoyed, but feel I am done with them after going through them once or after a fews days playing. Bomberman Land is one game I can't wait to play again. The Story Mode has many challenging games to master before competing to pass to the next level. This is not a quick process. The Free Play mode (up to 4 players) has many fun games to play over and over again.
