Product Information

In Second Sight, players are cast as a mysterious man who, at first, cannot even remember his own name. Awakening from a coma in a strange, utilitarian facility, the hero finds that he does not know who he is or why he is there. Soon, he also finds that he has been gifted with strange, potentially deadly psychic abilities. He needs answers and, guided by players from a third-person perspective, must make use of both stealth tactics and his unusual mental powers to seek them out.<br><br>Eventually, through careful observation and disturbing flashbacks, the player's character realizes that he was once part of a secret military organization, and that he came to this strange facility to recover from a failed mission in central Siberia. Further exploration and investigation reveals much more, as the hero comes to learn of other secret operations, far-reaching government conspiracies, and the soulless program of human experimentation which may have given him his strange psychic powers.

Awesome as far as I can tell, might rank higher if it ends up being compatible to the very end.
I never played this game before, but so far it seems pretty good. Controls aren't quite compared to today's games, but that's never been a problem with me, especially due to it's very intriguing story, makes me wanna keep playing; I also like the graphics for what they are, really give me that old-school feel on video games. It's working so far, but I don't know how good the rest of the game will be, but we'll see soon enough, I'll probably even be able to play through the whole game with relative ease.I never played this game before, but so far it seems pretty good. Solid Game for it's time
This stealth action game is wrapped in a very intriguing story about a man who wakes up in a hospital, remembers nothing, but has psychic powers. I know it sounds cheesy, but it is actually fleshed out nicely during the cut scenes. The game is played through a series of alternating missions, one in the present and one in the past, then repeat, and so on. I've read reviews comparing this game to Psi Ops: The Mind Gate Conpiracy, which came out around the same time. Let me be clear, the two games are almost entirely different. The only commonality is psyhic powers. Psi Ops is a fast paced run and gun game, while Second Sight relies much more on sneaking aroud to avoid detection and complete objectives to forward the plot. Now to the gameplay itself. Firstly, the psychic powers are well ... You can move objects around, use power attacks on enemies, heal yourself, and make yourself invisible for a short while to avoid detection. Graphically, it's an old game, but it has moments that look very good. It was developed by the group who did the Timesplitters games, so the character models share the same look, despite this game being third and not first person. The control scheme itself however, is only average. When confronted by opposition you often find yourself pressing the wrong buttons, unable to do what your mind is thinking. And, my all time pet peev, the camera angles suck. You can switch between three different camera angles: traditional third person, fixed position (sort of like Metal Gear Solid), and a first person view you can only use while standing still to survey the area. None of these work very well, and to make matters worse, since you are usually trying ro avoid security cameras and enemies, you constantly have to switch between the three different angles because none of them seem to show everything you would want to see by themselves. This, more than anything else, is what restrains the controls. The last thing i want to worry about when three guards are rushing at me is if i can see around to shoot them if i move to another room or hallway. VERY annoying! The music is alright, effectively eerie, but way overused during the levels. Maybe, i am spoiled by how much better games have become in the last few years. If i had played this game then, i might have been much more forgiving. Second Sight has it's problems, but i have every intention of finishing this game. I was lucky enough to get a brand new copy cheap, six bucks. If you can do the same, i would recommend this, if not, find something else.

I remember playing this a while back, and thinking how cool it was to have all these powers the game gives you. Does it hold up now, many years and many great games later? Yes, and no. The story is (and I say this with all honesty) actually pretty good. It works well for a game, and I'm not sure if it would work as well in other media. The controls are still fairly easy to use, but the textures have aged somewhat, but then that's to be expected, right? End of the day, the game is awesome fun. Nothing can beat using your telekinesis to grab a guard and bring him kicking and screaming to the nearest wall and slamming him back and forth till he goes limp.I remember playing this a while back, and thinking how cool it was to have all these powers the game gives you. Engaging third person stealth shooter game
Second Sight is a pretty engaging third-person stealth shooter, somewhat similar in gameplay to the Metal Gear Solid series. It's probably one of the better shooter games on GameCube; the controls are tight and the graphics and sound are pretty good. The story and characters are interesting as well. As the game progresses, you unlock new special abilities but this has the unfortunate side effect of complicating the controls and slowing down the action as you try to figure out silly puzzles or overcome various ability-specific obstacles. Some of the environments are dark and maze-like, and it's sometimes difficult to figure out exactly what you're supposed to do next. The game is also fairly linear and lacking in replay value; there are no unlockable rewards or multiplayer modes. Aside ...
