Why use anything else
I wish these were less expensive. But the trade off is healthier 'no ammonia' no paraben. I've heard the pores that your hair comes out of are rather large and so this makes me want a healthier alternative. My hair is just barely passed my shoulders and I find that one bottle is just enough. So if your hair is past your shoulders by more than 1/2 to 1 inch your maybe going to need to mix from a second package about a 1/4 of a bottle or so. But then you may need to take into consideration the thickness of your own particular hair. Bottom Line: Buy two boxes or three and go thru the "coverage" curve. Note: I have a lot of Gray roots. Brown turns red
After using Herbatint 4N haircolor Gel for over ten years exclusively it does not always cover grey completely every time I use it. The brown color turns red after about 5 or 6 weeks. However 4N is my hair's natural color and it does leave my hair in good condition after using it for this length of time.
