Perfect option.....cheaper than Nest and Ecobee's
so far so good. It lost connection a couple times during the first 2 days, but has been rock solid for the last week...…….easy to install . I found an unused blue wire behind my old thermostat. I used that as the C wire. I hooked up the other end of the blue wire to the C terminal on my furnace (even though there were a couple other wires already there). I turned the furnace back on and the screen on the thermostat was at setup as stated in the manual. I installed the Honeywell app on my phone, followed the instructions, and wha-la...….so far so good. Thermostat yes, software no.
The thermostat is terrific. It connected to the two stage furnace easily and provided the W2 connection not made by the installer. The only issue I have is that it does not work with an Android tablet. I have now seen this happen with 3 devices; a watch, an Security System and now a thermostat, as all Androids are not created equal. The Honeywell support team tends to hang up on customers, because they want to speak to installers. They admittedly did not design the software, so those questions have no support anyway.The thermostat is terrific. Nice Straight Forward Thermostat
This is a straight forward 5 wire instillation wifi Thermostat that is clean looking on the wall. I installed this thermostat on my 2005 single stage rheem gas furnace. You can control the thermostat from the wall unit or from your phone. You can control the heat, cool, fan, on and off and set the schedule. There is a new app for the T5 Lyric thermostat called Honeywell Home. Make sure you use this app and not the old one. Some people as reported on the internet have had problems with the old wifi app. I have not experienced any problems with the new Honeywell Home app for my T5 Lyric.This is a straight forward 5 wire instillation wifi Thermostat that is clean looking on the wall. Easy installation and use with multiple capabilities.
I bought this thermostat because it has the ability to switch automatically between heating and cooling, and it has smart phone programming that allows me to adjust the settings even when I'm not at home. I haven't yet set up the geofencing, but that should be a good addition. The documentation is good and clear, if sparse. I did run into a snag when the illustration didn't match my screen on the unit, but it was resolved with some backtracking and figuring out another way around. It functions well and is easily used manually as well. If you want the heat up, you press one key. Want it cooler, press another key. Better than expected, there are a lot of negative reviews about this product but mine worked perfect. This Honeywell T5 was easy to install and set up, downloaded the app on tablet, smart phones then connected it to the internet....all is perfect. FYI, this only works on the 2.4 ghz band so your phone or tablet need to be set to that or it wont connect...I am using Android, no comment on Ios
