The book is brand new, just as described. The price was reasonable. Shipping was fast, and tracking was provided. Unlike other sellers who REFUSE to leave feedback unless the buyer leaves feedback first, this seller left feedback immediately upon payment. THIS is how it should be. EXCELLENT transaction! Thank you very much.

Item is just as described and in pristine condition. Packaged extremely well. Thank you!! I would buy from the seller again. But be aware, processing and shipping is a lengthy process and you aren’t likely to get your item in under a week. But did arrive in the stated delivery window. Now, knowing that it will take time to arrive, this book was so clean and nice, I will buy from the seller again. Patience is a good skill to cultivate.

Light weight pocket guide of rocks & minerals

I have 2 copies of this field guide. Great descriptions, photos & glossary for rock hounds and other collectors. I leave one on library shelf for lookups to extend research. We carry one in our truck for a true field guide, which in the back along with definitions to attempt accurate ID.

  • A good and quick reference guide...great for kids too!

This is a very informative, quick and easy to use reference guide that has good color pictures and wonderful references to many North American minerals and rocks. Not every one is listed in here but I found many to most are. It has been my field guide since I was an older child using my mom's. Without it, I would be very lost as to what kinds of precious stones, minerals, and rocks are in my area. I also love it's compact size instead of being a big, bulky, hard to carry around study guide. I haven't found it's equal or better yet. A great family resource tool.

  • Best Introduction to Rocks and Minerals

This book was my first introduction to rocks and minerals. Although I have consulted many other works in the field of minerals, this guide is truly the best on the market. The volume is not only useful in identification of specimens, it also helps the reader understand how crystals form, the hardness of different minerals, and the color and shape certain crystals mostly likely assume. The color plates are very helpful, but sometimes they don't accurately reflect certain specimens. However, the pictures do help in making a close identification or at least a reasonable guess. Usually, the pictures are pretty accurate. I found this book helpful as a beginner in the mineral trade. I now find I consult it at least once a week. I'll go to this volume before I go to any other reference ...

  • Rock on!

This book has pictures of most of the minerals and gems for identification. The book also has a section on everyday rocks that are found in and around our environment....making it great for those family rock collection identification. Rocks and insects are often the first type of collections our kids make in school. This book is all your family needs to enjoy the rocks and minerals in our land.

  • Great for mineralogy/ geology folks

This book is a great guide to have to help identify unknown samples and or study. Everything is great. The photos for the rock section are not the best and kinda blurry. However the mineral photos are excellent.
