English summary: The Italian reformer Peter Martyr Vermigli (1499-1561) arrived in Zurich in 1556 after long years of fleeing from the Roman inquisition, and taught there as professor of Old Testament studies. Moreover, he took part in the religious colloquy of Poissy as a church diplomat and wbecame an important collaborator of Heinrich Bullinger and Johannes Calvin. Michael Baumann examines the biography of Vermigli's last years, his theology (trained in late medieval scholasticism, but reasoning biblically as a reformed theologian) and Vermigli's impact on Zurich's church history. German description: Michael Baumann untersucht die letzte und produktivste Phase des italienischen Reformators Peter Martyr Vermigli (1499-1561) als Hochschullehrer in Zurich. Von 1556 bis 1561 unterrichtete dieser als Professor Altes Testament. Peter Martyr Vermigli war als scholastischer Theologe ein explizit reformierter Denker, er kombinierte reformierte Glaubenslehre mit scholastischer Argumentation und leistet damit Entscheidendes zur Etablierung und Sicherung der noch jungen (protestantischen) reformierten Kirche. Vermigli trug entscheidend zur Prazisierung des reformierten Abendmahlsverstandnisses bei, indem er im sog. Zweiten Abendmahlsstreit vehement gegen die lutherische Position die oberdeutsch-reformierte starkte. Als Kontroverstheologe verhalf er dem Consensus Tigurinus, also der Schweizer Ubereinkunft uber das Abendmahl zur Bekanntheit und zum Durchbruch. Er stand als hochgebildeter Theologe mit grosser Hochschulerfahrung fur eine weit uber Zurich hinaus reichende Wirkung der jungen Zurcher Hohen Schule und verhalf der schola tigurina zu uberregionaler Bedeutung und Relevanz. Keine andere Lehrperson verkorperte wie Peter Martyr diese Internationalitat, nicht nur als Kirchendiplomat, mehr noch als personlicher Gewahrsmann war Vermigli fur Heinrich Bullinger die Verbindung nach England und zu Johannes Calvin nach Genf. Die Arbeit konzentriert sich auf drei Bereiche: einen historio-biographischen, der die letzten Jahre Vermiglis in Zurich beleuchtet und beschreibt; einen exegetisch-theologiehistorischen, in welchem anhand edierter Vorlesung aus der Zurcher Zeit Vermigli als ein spatmittelalterlich-scholastisch geschulter, aber durchwegs biblisch-reformiert argumentierender Theologe dargestellt wird; und auf einen dritten Bereich, in welchem anhand des Versuchs einer Rezeptionsgeschichte die Wirkung Vermiglis auf die spezifisch zurcherischen Kirchenentwicklungslinien beschrieben werden.
