  • CUTE BUT A LITTLE predictable UK version is better

This film is a remake of a popular UK film with Colin Firth of the same title. I watched Drew's film first and the Brit one was a better film, but Drew is always great. Good premises, but a little lagging and predictable. From the previews it looked like it was going to be fab, but left me flat. But if you're a Drew fan, like me, she was her adorable self. Blessings, MR Update, I just watched this again 11/2008. Again Drew was the same girl from 50 first dates and never been kissed... just a likable girl [and the song one with Hugh Grant]. Don't get me wrong, I am a Drew fan, and I bought the movie because of her brand of comedy. But the whole time, Fallon, who plays a good nice guy, well I kept thinking that is the guy from SNL the one who wears the pink hat ...

  • Fever Pitch is a cute date movie - not a sports movie

Fever Pitch got a lot of heat when it came out because of the involvment of the Re Sox in it - many considered it to be an unholy mockery of the Red Sox 2004 World Series championship. But the movie wasn't meant to be a sports film - its a date movie. Its cute and its funny - and thats exactly what its meant to be. Jimmy Fallon is hilariously odd and uncomfortable as a die hard red sox fan trying to balance his commitment to his team and his new girlfriend (played by Drew Barrymore). I personally find Drew Barrymore irritating and a sub-par actress, but she is mostly fine in this role. The movie has something for everyone and its an enjoyable 90 minutes. My guess is that this movie wouldn't work without Jimmy Fallon - who really makes it special and brings to life some of the ...

  • A so-so romantic comedy

My wife found this to be a very charming and entertaining love story, but I found it to be very, very tedious and boring. This movie is a look at two boring people who have nothing profound or exciting happen to them in a story that could have been written about or acted by anyone. You don't ever get attached to the characters and the comedy isn't enough to make this a standout movie. The girls may like it, but guys the only redeeming parts of the movie are the baseball scenes. Get it for them and try to stay interested, the pay off comes after the movie is done. This movie isn't that romantic and isn't that comedic, rent it.

  • Great movie for a RED SOX fan or a romantic comedy fan

This is a really enjoyable film about an obsessed Red Sox fan who falls in love and needs to learn how to balance his romantic relationship and his love of the RED SOX. Drew Barrymore is very believable as the wounded, suffering girlfriend and Jimmy Fallon is good as the RED SOX obsessed boyfriend/teacher. It's really a sweet film with a little humor that guys and gals can both enjoy.

  • A little dry

This is not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it sure isn't the best. Ben(played by Jimmy Fallon) is a very dedicated Red Sox fan. He puts them above everything else in his life. He starts dating Lindsey(Played by Drew Barrymore)and after a while it starts bothering her that she is the second priority in his life. They really could have made this funnier by making her play games or something to keep him from the games. Not that that would have been funny in real life, but hey this is the movies. It is a little dry and lacks a lot of humor.
