G.M.'S usage of a glow plugs switch for the 5.7 diesel.
Caution! As the name "diesel glow plugs switch" might imply to some", this switch does NOT switch the glow plugs systems on or off in the USUAL manor. I did some more research the other night and found out that this switch only provides a "signal" to the glow controller to terminate the after glow portion of the glow cycle, IF the alternator fails to "build up" and do so as it normally would, and then ONLY AFTER the engine reaches a temp of 120-125 degrees or more. (Makes a lot of "sense". G.M.!!!) (If the alternator fails, WHY WAIT TO PROVIDE A "BACKUP" TERMINATION SIGNAL?????)Caution!
