    Basic guide rule

    This is a basic guide rule for making strait cuts with medium precision. It will do straight cuts quickly with decent precision. It saves time compared to using a clamped down board as a guide, but is not more curate. More accurate solutions exist, but are expensive and are not necessarily better than a simple solution as a straight piece of wood/metal and two clamps. For important cuts, use a sturdier solution than this simple rip fence.

    Flimsy

    I'm a carpentry contractor, so I need good, solid, dependable tools. On jobsites where I don't want to lug a table saw, a rip guide is a pretty handy thing. I've always gotten one for every circular saw I've owned. While the Makita saw I now use is a rugged, well-crafted tool, the rip guide is not. It bends easily and will flex as you cut if you aren't laser-true with your cutting motion. I'll be looking for a better quality version of this accessory. Makita, I'll pay a little more for a usable guide... hear me?

    Ripe fence

    My table saw was packed after we moved in Storage so it was my only choose as I was building the new house other then buy a new tabl saw. Best small investment I could have ever made.

    Good Price and Good Quality BUT

    As mentioned in other posts this is not a very long guide. After feeding it through both guide channels on the saw's base, there is very little length left to hang over any wood you are cutting. This really needs to be about 50% longer so that it can be used on wider boards.

    Find something else

    Just doesn't secure tightly in the slot. Too much play in the opening to guarantee a stable cut. If the guide was 1/8" wider it would fit perfectly. Not badly made, just not a tight fit.
