Lisa Coole earned her bachelor's degree in sociology at Bridgewater State College and her master's degree in criminal justice at Northeastern University. She is an associate professor at Massasoit Community College, where she teaches courses in sociology, criminology, and the sociology of deviance. She is also a visiting associate professor at Bridgewater State University, teaching in both the Sociology and Criminal Justice departments.
