    Best Jerky Seasoning for DIY venison

    I like the Nesco Jerky seasoning in original flavor for these reasons: It's affordable, easy to use, and tases great. With an item like this that does not expire or require refrigeration, I could get it anywhere or have it shipped right to me. Nesco makes this 6 packet box that shows up at my door and makes 6-12lbs of jerky for about a dollar a pound (with the technique I use). The instructions are as simple as mixing salt cure and seasoning (clearly labeled in the box, and some water (or not, I've had huge success with dry rubbing venison strips). After applying the mix to the meat it marinates 3-8 (or 12) hours, and I can cook jerky in the oven in the morning. Although they are an option, no dehydrator, no smokehouse are needed, just nesco and an oven. Best of all this mix tastes ...

    The worst experience

    I ordered my product on February the 28th and just got it on March 17 ive ordered alot from ebay and other sites in my time and this by far is the slowest ive ever seen I almost thought at one point I got ripped off intill I looked in my mail box to day so if you won't to wait 4 ever for your package them go ahead and order from this person if not order else where if this rating system had go stars then that's what they would get

    Best jerky mix out there NO DOUBT, I buy original only, they have different blends

    I have been hunting for 45 plus years and make alot of jerky for the family friends etc, unreal to say I found this mix from a neighbor, and its the best with just HAMBURGER unreal huh, alls you do is buy a cheap gun from nesco at walmart the kit that it and whala get the burger and go, pound of hamburger and mix makes 4 to 5 times more then walmart store bought, and it will BLOW YOU AWAY. Im from coorado specialist on all types of jerky, as far as deer meat never used it I make my own mix hang dry it and its thw worlds best, as I said hamburger and dehydrator is unreal and very cheap, etc.BEST thing is you make your hamburgers with this mix and watch what you say about the mix incase you dont want to make jerky

    Works good with ground meat and a dehydrator to make jerky

    A little peppery for my personal taste, but much like what you get out of the store at the check out counter....Price has gone up quite a bit making it a 1.60/lb + of ground meat used. I think thats pretty costly for a handful of spices. Bulk products (1 - 1.5# boxes) can be purchased from the sausage maker website that treat much more meat at 0.50/lb or less.....a much better deal. It is nice tho that this product comes with a separately packaged preservative that can be used or not depending upon how quickly you are going to use the end product. I would continue to use this for small batch processing, but my use is primarly on wild game which just takes to much., running the cost up to high for my tastes.....would probably try some of the other flavors for tho as well..

    Makes great jerky!!!

    I normally just use ingredients I have here like Brown sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, etc....since my failed back surgery, sometimes I just want simple and quick and I use original blend Nesco season. Everyone that tastes my jerky can't eat just one piece.
