Great tool - especially for the money!!
I have never had a chain saw and was unsure if I should go with a gas powered model or an electric. Electric was the simpler way to go (no mixing oil & gas, no maintenance per se) but would it be powerful enough? All of my other electric power tools do the job so why not a chain saw? But I didn't know anyone with an electric chain saw so I was somewhat skeptical. Well, I'm not skeptical anymore. This little beauty is lightweight (about 11 pounds), very easy to handle, and powerful enough to cut through thick logs like a hot knife thru butter. I took down 4 big old oaks last fall and now it was time to cut them up. I went after some of the smaller branches and trunks figuring let me start small. No problems with anything I cut. Now, I didn't go and try to get thru the 24" diameter ... I have never had a chain saw and was unsure if I should go with a gas powered model or an electric. I was bit concerned that my old 100' extension cord wouldn't reach since I had to go deep into my yard (not a problem) and it might not be heavy-duty enough (16/3 - it was fine even though a 14/3 or 12/3 is recommended). My only complaint is that while Worx provides chain oil in the box, its barely enough to fill a quarter of the reservoir. They give you enough just to wet your (cutting) appetite. But all-in-all this saw worked great. No oil spills/leaks. Cuts great, Powerful. Great price. Will it hold up over the long run - no idea. But I'm not a lumberjack and only anticipate sporadic use so this product fits my needs to a tee. BTW, its very well constructed and feels very solid when you hold it.

First off, the only reason this is not five star is the weight of the saw. I was replacing a smaller electric saw used for trimming and I did not expect such a robust product. I have owned several saws, both gas and electric and would rate this saw with the best of any I've owned. My neighbor just borrowed it to clear some fallen trees and couldn't stop raving about it. He would go so far as to buy a generator to take to the woods to use the saw. I really like the automatic oiler that doesn't leave a pool of oil every time you lay the saw down, unlike my other electric saws (Poulan and Remmington) I love the Oregon chain and the easy, no tool adjustment. It is easily as powerful as my 18" Echo, which is by far the best gas saw I own. As far as I can tell with my few uses of this saw, it ... Use a good #12 cord and keep the chain out of the dirt and it will cut about anything you wish to tackle. It's also a good idea to lube the nose wheel ocassionaly as well (a feature usually not found in "consumer" saws). This is a serious saw with plenty of power and the safety brake is an excellant feature considering there is not safety guard on the nose to help prevent kick backs. I remove those guards when saws come with them anyway, as they really interfer with light trim work and cut down the working size of your bar.

All in all....not a bad chainsaw. It has almost all the power of my similarly sized gas chain saw....and the trade off is not having to mix the fuel and slop it in the saw and then dislocate my elbow trying to get it started. Instead you have the problem of obtaining a 100' electric cord and then have the hassle of tripping over it...or avoiding cutting it while wrestling with the saw. I liked the automatic chain tensioner....and the ability to put the chain back on after it came off....all without tools. I also liked the automatic oiler....although it leaks out when the chain saw is not in use and sits for a few days or weeks.....so I have to remember to empty it out after each use if there is any left in the reservoir. The other day I used and abused my 16" Worx Electric Chain Saw ... All in all....not a bad chainsaw. Let's see how well this new saw holds up over a few years continued use.

Great saw at a great price. Performance is excellent.
I wanted to buy an electric chainsaw as I don't need to use it that often so I didn't want to mess with the hassles of a gas chainsaw. This was a refurb, but I tell you this unit looks and operates like new. I am very pleased with it. It's my first time using an electric saw. I used it to cut down a damaged medium sized maple tree in the yard. This 16" saw handled it with ease! It is a solid quality chainsaw. If I had to nit-pick one thing I'd say it was a bit on the heavy side, but not really a problem at all. I would rather have it feel that way than feel cheap. Awesome electric chain saw
This is an awesome electric chain saw. I didn't know if it would handle the job I needed it to do. But it was AWESOME. I took down 6 trees about 24 inches in diameter and was able to cut all limbs and haul all of the trees off. This Electric chain saw worked for 7 hours and completed the job and was ready to do more. The automatic chain tensioner work excellent , as well as the automatic chain oiler. For the money this is an excellent item. would highly recommend this electric chain saw, if that is what you are looking for Cold2nightThis is an awesome electric chain saw.
