About this product

Product Information

Seeing fluorescent minerals up close for the first time is an exciting experience. The colors are so pure and the glow is so seemingly unnatural, that it is hard to believe they are natural rocks. Hundreds of glowing minerals are shown, including Aragonite, Celestine, Feldspar, Microcline, Picropharmacolite, Quartz, Spinel, Smithsonite, plus many more. But don't let the hard-to-pronounce names keep you away. Over 870 beautiful color photographs illustrate how fluorescent minerals look under UV light and in daylight, making this an invaluable field guide. Here are minerals from the United States, including mines in New Jersey, New York, Arizona, and California, as well as beautiful and unusual minerals from Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Italy, Sweden, and other places. Included are values, a comprehensive resources section, plus helpful advice on caring for, collecting, and displaying minerals. The field of collecting fluorescent minerals is relatively new and this is one of the most complete references available.

Super impressed with this seller! They had the best price by far for this book! Both the cost of the book and the shipping fee was far better than average! The book came exactly as described, it was well packaged and quite a bit earlier than expected! The seller was polite and replied quickly to my messages. I’ll definitely make another purchase soon! Thank you to the seller! Be safe and keep up the great work!

WONDERFUL book! Better than described, in just like new condition [not just good]. Packaged very carefully, shipped very securely. Great seller, would buy from again in a heartbeat! No communication occurred, but I imagine it would have been as good as the rest of their customer service. Very happy with purchase, thank you very much!

  • Very Informative

I purchased the book because I am getting into the rockhounding and someone sent me some Fluorescents. That got it started in adding to my collection. And to know what I have and wanted to find or get I needed a good book on Fluorescents. For me this is a great book to learn about where to find them, the reason for the fluorescents and the different colors of the different minerals. I have not found much wrong with the book, some of it I dont understand as to the make up of the materials but that is a small part of the book. The best part is to find some of the rocks you have and see what they are and look like under UV light.

  • Great fluorescent mineral PICTURE BOOK

This is a fluorescent mineral PICTURE BOOK!!! Awesome for the beginning collector for sure, and even experienced ones could appreciate the wonderful photography under SW & LW lighting. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate the written material, but it looked good with the quick scan I've given it.

  • Danelzka

This is a nicely layed out color guide to fluorescent rocks and minerals. Easy to use and contains lots of specimens. It is only a basic guide to help identify your finds. Indepth history of the minerals are lacking. I am happy I bought this book.
