since these are hard to find now I bought two after bushhogging one of my originals. they came with batteries in them and an extra set. They linked up with my base unit with no problem with any of the features I use at least one of them every day. They have a range of over 500 feet which is why I bought them in the first place.

Best Phone Ever/Call Blocking/Talking Caller ID/Big LED Display
This is the best phone out there. This is the second one I purchased as I liked the first one so much (I bought in 2011). I blocked 30 number with the first one and now I can block an additional 30 numbers with this one. I bought this second one used and it had the original batteries in it and they still took and held a full charge. I bought this phone used as new ones of this model are no longer made. So if you find a used one or a refurbished one, GET IT while you can. The new models that replaced this model are bigger and take up more room and they did away with at least two buttons and features on the base key pad. Whenever you swap out batteries you will find out that the green light on the handset stays lit no matter how long you charge it. To get rid of the green light you have to ... With the talking caller ID the phone will announce the caller's name and phone no. If someone calls you have programmed into your phone book, it will announce their name also. Also with call blocking you can block calls without a no. This is very handy. And you can switch between regular talk and speaker phone talk button on the handset and back and forth as much as you like. I found other brands disconnect you when you try and switch from one method to another. I like to use speaker phone on the handset. This way I can talk to whoever and have the phone in my shirt pocket or just laying on the coffee table or whatever is close to me. And my hands are now free to do other things with both hands. I'm using these phones with the Walmart Straight Talk Home Phone System and they are terrific and it only cost me $15 + sales tax which totals $16.22. This is for 30 days. Unlimited US long distance calling, caller ID no., call waiting, call forwarding and etc.

Excellent, reliable, practical phone!
Best phone system I ever owned! I really like the voice caller ID, that announces who is calling! But the system is easy to use, looks good, batteries seem to last a long time, since I can carry the phone around the house and the yard. The phone is very comfortable to use in your hand also! I like it so much, I bought one for my office! The only thing I don't like is the voice mail system - I don't use the phone voice mail system, since I have voice mail on my provider (Surewest)so it is just confusing having all that on the phone.....Best phone system I ever owned! But the system is easy to use, looks good, batteries seem to last a long time, since I can carry the phone around the house and the yard. The phone is very comfortable to use in your hand also!
