      Incomparable, Another Wonderful Anita O'Day CD At A Great Value

      I am happy to add another Anita O'Day CD to my growing O'Day collection, Incomparable with Waiter, Make Mine Blues, a double album bonus from her Verve years. As with any compilation, there are songs you have but there are others you don't. No matter. I love hearing them all. O'Day, who never had singing lessons, paints a picture with her innate rapid fire delivery and soft sexy contralto voice tinged with scotch and honey. From Blue Champagne to Slaughter on 10th Avene, an amazing scat vocalese turning her voice into any brass instrument, she makes every song her own with sassy stylizations. I recommend this CD if you love jazz and Anita O'Day.
