Simple to replace
A definite improvement over the original air lock that came with the pressure cooker 35 years ago. Lightweight aluminum. No instructions, but it was easy to figure out it unscrewed and how it went on. Problem was getting the old one off after 35 years, but a little work with wire cutters solved that problem. Then, it was a simple unscrew the two parts, insert into the hole, and tighten down. Haven't tried it out yet but I see no reason why it won't work as designed. Glad to finally have it replaced. Don't be without an extra!
In the area I live our water has an EXTREMELY high mineral content. Even with continual scrubbing this pressure valve will fail. Sometimes a new part is necessary because I do a lot of canning and I need to know I can finish the job.
