As a wrestling fan for over 2 decades, i have seen every major WWF WWE ECW WCW event that has basically been produced. I am sure there are many of us out there that prefered the wrestling days of old and get that nostaligic feeling when watching wrestlemania 1, summerslam 1988 Superbrawl, you get the picture, however WWE were onto a good thing when they purchased ECW, as they say proof is in the pudding, you only have to look at the sucess of ECW one night stand to know they had something special, they had all the tools to relaunch Eastern Championship Wrestling and bring it to a world wide audience, sadly they missed the boat as they did with there purchase of WCW, WWE decided to rebrand it and move away from what we all knew and loved about ECW the characters were slowley dissapering and December to Dismember was far from 1995 this was 2006 this was vince mcmahon and the wwe... This was the final nail in the coffin of the ECW, Vince Mcmahon took creative control away form Paul E, who if you ask anyone has one of the greatest minds in the business the man that was ECW the man who could relaunch ECW, the problem is Vince and his Creative team decided it was time they took ECW and rebranded it, this time without the major stars this time without the driving force Paul Heyman, the last few months up to the ppc it was clear that Paul and Vince's relationship was becoming strained due to creative differences, yes Vince is the owner of ECW but Paul Heyman was the driving force, without Paul Heyman without RVD hell without Shane Douglas ECW was dead, we can only celebrate what was ECW through viewing old tapes and dvds, because beleive you me ECW will never be the same again.... which is a shame. However i will list the matches for you guys. Stevie Richards d efeated René Dupreé. The Hardys (Matt and Jeff) defeated MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) Balls Mahoney defeated Matt Striker Elijah Burke and Sylvester Terkay defeated The Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke) (with Trinity Daivari (with The Great Khali) defeated Tommy Dreamer Kevin Thorn and Ariel defeated Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly Bobby Lashley defeated The Big Show (c), Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly, CM Punk Extreme Elimination Chamber match for the ECW World Championship I would love to have said that the Extreme Elimination Chamber Match saved the show but i would be lying, the removal of Sabu and the insertion of Hardcore holly was b.s and Booby Lashly winning was also b.s this should have been a launch pad for C.M Punk, the crowd would have accepted that or RVD not Lashley now thats not a knock on Bobby it didnt make sense to have him go over, and this off course was Vince McMahons idea and who can blame Paul E for walking out on WWE, the odds were heavily stacked against him with little to no promotion of the event... Overall if you are a fan of ECW pre -WWE do not purchase this instead opt for the original ECW productions or i would happily promote One Night Stand, the night when WWE did us long time fans justice. I read somewhere (I'm not allowed to tell you the link) that this Pay-Per-View had the LOWEST ratings in WWE history, EVER. Now I don't know if that's completely true, but I do know it is among the lowest, not necessarily THE lowest, but I can see why. "Inside" fans know that this was poorly executed, barely planned out and rushed to get ratings and cash in on the ECW name. The matches are good, nothing out of this world spectacular, but good. The event ran very short and I don't want to go into to all of that because I only have so many characters to review this DVD. I can say just look it up on your favorite wrestling web site to hear the whole story, or at least what's been out that Vinnie Mac hasn't tried to can in shame. Lots of controversy!! The Hardys vs. MNM Balls Mahoney vs. Matt Striker Elijah Burke & Sylvester Terkay vs. F.B.I. Tommy Dreamer vs. Daivari Mike Knox & Kelly Kelly vs. Kevin Thorn & Ariel Big Show vs. Test vs. Hardcore Holly CM Punk vs.Bobby Lashley vs. Rob Van Dam (Extreme Elimation Chamber) Well... that's all folks!! Seriously... HEY!!! Stop looking for more matches, there are none. No joke. Stop, don't go looking for someone else's review, I'm being serious. That's all. Well there's a bonus match from ECW on Sci-Fi but that's all. Yeah I know the poster ad for the show was Sandman's arm and Sabu is on the cover of the DVD, I know!!! But, they're not here, sorry. Like you I was disappointed, but thankfully for me I got this DVD in the ECW collector's tin at FYE, sold the other two DVDs for more than what I paid for all 3, so basically I got paid to get this DVD, so I can't complain about it. I don't recommend paying more than $10 new, and around $5 used either unless you're a die-hard. I wish there was more, I wish I could have booked the show too but hey, nothing's perfect. There is a reason why there was only ONE December to Dismember. The back of the DVD advertises only two matches...there were actually about 5, but then again I see why they only advertised those two. Here were the matches: The Hardys vs MNM (took forever for the match to hype up. You know how after the big finishers and the big hype, the match is about to be over. NOPE, they had one good hype and wrestled which seems like FOREVER afterwards. If they ended with the hype it would have been better, but it just got boring after.) Balls Mahoney vs Matt Striker (Dont recall the match but I lauaghed the ENTIRE time at Tazz's color commentary. The only good part about that match) Elijah Burke and Sylvester Turkay vs FBI (I think this match was like 0:30 seconds. I remember them coming out and remember them leaving) Tommy Dreamer vs Davari (WHAT A JOKE) Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly vs Kevin Thorn and Ariel (PUH-LEEZ) The Extreme Elimination Chamber Match is the ONLY reason this ppv has 3 stars from me. The match alone was a 5 star HANDS down. If this match was not on the card I would have given it a -2. This match was AWESOME and the only match worth buying. Great quality. Good production. Loved the old ECW ballroom booking too. Decent matchups but I can't stand McMahon he ruins everything-wrestling, birthday parties, orgasms. He just terrible.

MNM v Hardys is good, but nowhere near the caliber of their match later that month at Armegedon. Skip to the "Extreme" Elimination Chamber... well it was in the chamber. This was dull, nothing like previous EC matches, even with the involvemnt of "weapons" - note, when they close up on Big Show's Barbwire bat notice THERE ARE NO BARBS OR POINTS just wire with little knots in it, and the camera goes close-up on this. Overall, I feel really sorry for anyone who shelled out $30 for the PPV and was literally sick at my stomach for spending $15 retail for the DVD.
