What a beautiful guitar! A friend scoffed at the fact I bought a Rogue. But I don't agree with him about a good restaurant either. The fine resonator guitar you sent is going to change his mind. After looking at virtually ALL resonator guitars at an affordable price point, Rogue was my first, then final, choice. And I am VERY HAPPY! Best guitar value for the dollar ever! No blues here!!

    First Resonator Guitar

I’ve played off and on for 20 years and recently had gotten into Blues. I searched many resonators and prices and discovered the Rogue brand. Wanting a resonator that didn’t cost a fortune, I found this one. Right out of the box and a quick tune up, it sounded great. I played standard and open G tuning with a slide. The action is low enough that it frets easily and just high enough that a slide doesn’t clank on the frets. Sure, there’s a couple of very minor finish flaws but this is a great resonator that has a surprisingly good sound for a spider bridge setup. There’s hardly any “fret sprout” on the neck. The intonation isn’t perfect but unless you put a tuner on it and find it, you can’t tell it by ear, at least I can’t. This a great resonator for the price and sounds really good.

  • Beautiful and flawless

I returned a more named brand guitar because it was over $400.00, was also not made in the USA and didn't sound that great. This guitar was made in the same country (which shall remain nameless) and sounds just the same as the named brand guitar (also to remain nameless). When plucking this guitar, or any wood bodied resonator, it doesn't sound that much different than a regular acoustic guitar but when using a slide it sounds awesome with a very long sustain. This guitar was delivered in absolutely flawless condition with not even a finger print anywhere. There was a quality control tag on the back that had someone's initals and it was signed in fresh ink with a pen. It is solid, sturdy, gloss black, stays in tune with great action.

  • Nice guitar

I bought this, blemished, missing port screen, intending to use it for experiment, but, it's such a nice, tidy solid little instrument, I haven't the heart to take it apart. Sounds great. Weird glossy plastic veneered plywood-ish material. Feels solid, like several of my more costly guitars. No stray noises. Comfortable player, makes neat noise.

  • BEST RESONATOR IN IT'S PRICE RANGE...

I could say it's a good deal for the price but the truth is...it is a great resonator period, NO it's not a National...but it's also not the price of a National...with that being said, I see where some have had minor issues with this guitars set up etc. I can tell you mine came packaged nice and secure right out of the box it was set up pretty well, action is low but NO buzz on any strings perfect for me because I do more chord work than slide (action would need to be set a little higher for slide) once tuned it seems to hold tune pretty well...you will want to change the strings first thing...I would recomend this guitar to anyone that wants to get into resonators but doesnt want to spend $1000 bucks or more.

  • Think again!

All my friends are musicians. And like my friends, my opinion of Rogue instruments was the same as First Act. Beginner entry level low quality. But the Rogue Spider Resonator was the most attractive dobro listed, as far as wood body. Spruce top, mahogany sides and back. Precision cut inlays on the fretboard. The finish on the back is far from perfect in appearance, but my belly button is just fine with it. Good action, sound like a piano, and an unbeatable price. I couldn't be happier!
