Worked exactly as promised.
This item works perfectly, followed a video on youtube. The hardest part was removing the old adhesive never use super glue as it will bread windshield. Then once surfaces were clean you can install mirror with just one drop of glue. Waited 20 seconds and it was fixed in place. I am a newbie so if I succeeded others should do it as well. Works like a charm.
You must read the instructions and follow them all. Both the windshield and the rear-view button must be cleaned very well. Before cling the windshield make a mark around where the button goes with a marker. That way you can place the part back exactly where it was installed at the plant. It works !!!
The key to success is making sure your glass is very clean. I used Glass Plus window cleaner twice on the area of button installation. And I scuffed the glue side of the button with sandpaper. And cleaned that also. Use the kit according to the directions. And you should have no trouble. I installed my mirror the next day. It didn't work
It did not work. I chose Permatex 81844 because of a online video I watched. It showed how to perfect the repair using Permatex 81844. Upon receiving the kit I followed the instructions on the back which were just like the video. I let the button cure for more than 24 hours since I wasn't using the vehicle. I began to slide the mirror over the button and the button broke loose. I purchased a Loctite kit and it worked perfectly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Expected better from Permatex
I followed directions exactly and actually let the adhesive dry overnight before attempting to attach mirror to glued base. As soon as I began attaching the mirror, the base pulled off from the windshield. I then tried a simple JB Weld 5 minute epoxy I had on hand and it is still holding.
