Nice option for an older rig
When your seven speed shifters cash in, you’ll find your choices limited, but there are still some possibilities if you don’t mind twist grip shifters. I just put a set of these on a friend’s 30 year old Trek, and they were quick and easy to set up and have light, positive action. They aren’t glamorous, they just work, and with a grand total of two moving parts, they will likely keep on working for a long time. Don’t feel bad about the price, they work as well as shifters that cost four or five times more.
