About this product

Product Information

Made in Japan, the Contax T2 point-and-shoot 35mm film camera allows you to take clear and vibrant pictures. Featuring a 38mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss T Sonnar lens, it is known for its high resolution and optimal color balance and contrast. The camera's red eye reduction, selection of shooting modes, and manual programming options give you control over your photos. Use the camera's built-in flash to take bright pictures even in areas with less lighting. The self-timer allows you to take pictures from a tripod. The camera's combination of a fast shutter speed, auto focus, and 60-degree view angle ensures you will have excellent photos. It is designed to optimize your chance of blur-free images, even when you are capturing movement. To make it easy to identify when you take your shots, this camera provides a date imprint option. In the top right-hand corner, next to the shutter button of this Contax camera, there is a small wheel that governs just about everything these cameras can do. Firstly, it is the on/off switch. With one simple click, the hatch slides back, the lens comes out, and the camera is ready to be used in auto-focus mode. A second click puts the camera in fixed mode to infinity, and a third click puts it in manual focus. The viewfinder displays a green circle with a red arrow on each side that helps you focus the camera. The two red arrows show you which way to turn the wheel to get your picture just right. The shutter button is a pleasant surprise on this Contax. It works quickly and quietly, making it impossible to hear the film winding when a picture is taken. The Contax T2s were made from titanium and were built like tanks. There were several different finishes that were made available. The most common finishes were the champagne silver and the titanium black ones. The less common were the jet black and the gold versions. This Contax was made to be the Cadillac of compact cameras. The film pressure plate is made of ceramic, polished to a flat, hard surface so the film stays totally flat. A synthetic ruby was used by the company on the shutter button to avoid signs of wear and tear. Made of sapphire, the viewfinder is guaranteed to be 100% scratch proof. For those who prefer film cameras over digital ones, the size and weight of these compact cameras feel good in your hand. Light enough to carry in your pocket or purse, you can have it ready to shoot pronto. The photography results are incredibly bright and clear. Accessories for this camera include both a soft and hard case, a neck strap, and a wrist strap.Tough and durable, this Contax can be taken with you regardless of where you want to go. It requires no special treatment. You will be overjoyed with the type of pictures you can take. Even friends with newer, fancier models will be complimenting the quality of your photos.

    Amazing!

He was very quick with responding to my message and addressing my concern for shipment. Shipping when out that same day! :) This is my first large purchase on eBay and I have to say I was very apprehensive about it at first. I am very pleased with the quality of the camera and photos. The only thing is that the exposure count doesn’t display right but that doesn’t matter cause you’ll know when the roll is done. Overall, great experience!

  • A great aim and shoot that is so much more.

This is a rock solid aim and shoot 35mm that provides excellent photographs and allows the photographer to intervene and dial in some manual settings if wanted. It rides comfortably in my pocket and is instantly available when a photo opportunity pops up. Unlike digital, I can drop the roll of film off at the Wal-Mart photo counter when I start shopping, pick it up when I get ready to check out, and review the pictures in my easy chair that evening when I'm ready. I don't have to mess with any cables or cards, download anything, or even start my computer if I don't feel like it. The freedom to enjoy my pictures without worrying about technology is so nice. I found this camera on E-Bay for a very good price and, after a couple of weeks and two rolls of film, I am thrilled. ...

  • The Rolls Royce of Point and Shoot Cameras

I'm in love with my new Contax T2. Yes, it's a very hip camera and yes it's overpriced. I have a Yashica T3 camera that I love and the difference between the two cameras is not that obvious to the untrained eye. Yet, the Contax wins on clarity and depth of field. Plus, it's a beautiful object in a Titanium box and it offers more possibilities of manual settings than the usual point and shoot. For all these reasons and because my pictures have never looked so cinematic, I'm happy I paid the price to own non less than the Rolls Royce of point and shoot cameras.

  • It's such a great and ease to use camera. Solid build.

The T2 doesn't really bigger than my T3 as much as I imagine before, while the image quality isn't off much from T3, but the overall handling actually more ease and comfortable to use.

  • Contax T2 Great Buy!

I had been eyeing this camera for over a year especially when I lived in Asia for several months. When I got back to the States I regretted not buying it out there. Finally I found a good deal on eBay and decided to go for it. After shooting one till I can say the quality of photos is amazing, the flash works great, and the body of the camera is beyond excellent condition. Easily one of my best buys ever!
