Very sturdy tuff phone, loaded with features
I LOVE THIS PHONE, it is so tough. I am a contractor and this phone is has been right there by my side, what a sturdy well built phone. I would buy this phone over and over again the key board makes texting orders in a breeze, the screen is bright and clear and doesn't easily scratch, the speakers are loud and clear and most of all the battery last and last even on the coldest of days. The only problem is the on/off button doesn't work sometimes when you press it, so if the screen goes dark you have to slide it open to awake the phone. However, I love this phone and would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a phone that is functional, good looking, full of features, the perfect size for fitting in the pocket and is TUFF..I LOVE THIS PHONE, it is so tough. In cellphone technology terms, this phone is OBSOLESCENT. It is 2.5 years old in human years, but 10 years in cell phone time. This Droid 4 is my fourth unit. My daughter has one and the other two units are awaiting ribbon cables. Motorola has no interest in this phone. The Jellybean Android 4.1.2 version has been superseded by the KitKat, Lollipop and, now, the Marshmellow Android operating systems. All my four phones have been plagued by FREEZING APPS....especially the Contacts app and WhatsApp. In fact, just about all the apps would freeze at some time. I have written to Motorola numerous times, begging for help. They sent two fixes, but none worked. Since then, Motorola has either not solved the problem or is just ignoring me. It would be great if Apps, messages and contacts could be saved on the mini SD card. I will not encourage anyone to buy such an old phone unless, like me, you are a slave to the Qwerty keyboard. If Motorola understood BRAND LOYALTY, they would have supported me until the Droid 5 came out..... Buy at your own risk..

This product has been a reliable phone for what I use it for.
Overall a great phone. It lacks the speed of the Samsung devices, however for the price it is a steal. The keyboard is unique nowadays and if you like a keyboard this is your smartphone. I bought this product to replace my existing Moto Droid 4 because it was ran through the washer by my fiancé. The phone still worked even after that, however the touchscreen is no longer functioning, making every task on the phone annoying. Likes- Keyboard, size, features. Dislikes- Battery life isn't great but it is a smartphone. The phone lags a little bit when your text message conversations get maxed out. This phone compares to most Android devices and is the only option for a smartphone with a 5 row keyboard.Overall a great phone. Worth buying for the QWERTY affictionardo.
I bought this primarily for the proper physical QWERTY keyboard,...a feature which sadly seems to have fallen out of favour here in the UK,other than with the Blackberry. Also,being somewhat familiar with Android I decided to go with that to. They keyboard is indeed a joy to use,though it does seem to consume a large amount of battery life in with longer texts.Still,there is also the option of the on-screen function. The screen isn't as responsive as some of the other touch-screen mobile phones & sometimes takes a couple of more forceful taps to access apps/menus & the camera isn't the best but takes pretty reasonable pictures although the colours can appear slighty washed out in appearance. Nice Phone, great keyboard, but short battery life!
I like the phone and its features, but battery life is drained fast when using the phone a lot. If your a heavy user, plan on needing to charge the phone during the day. Besides the battery life, the only other issue is get a protective case. I generally don't like cases and don't buy them but the phone slipped out of a jacket pocket and fell about 24"-30" and hit the edge on the concrete and cracked the screen all the way across. Although the phone worked for weeks later, one day the screen did become non-responsive and now I'm faced with getting another phone. Don't know if the screen issue is a result from the break or a defect with the phone. I'm trying another Droid 4 because I do like the physical keyboard as well as the other features. I have a portable battery charger, so that ... I like the phone and its features, but battery life is drained fast when using the phone a lot.
