  • The best 2-Line System you can find!

The 8825 and the 8800 handsets create a phone system with flexibility that has yet to be matched by any of the others. Range on the handsets is several blocks and I have found it nice to carry while out walking my cat (yes cat) or working on maintaining the apt. complex. I use a second 8825 base conected to two Grandstream HandyTone HT-488 units (which connect to the internet), and handle my two internet VOIP overseas lines. Since each handset is capable of connecting to two bases, it is simple to switch from one to the other. There are a great deal of features that are often missed in this system, like the base stations ability to voice announce who is calling, in your own voice if you like when it rings. Read the manual carefully and if you do not have one, email me. It has only one ...

  • Best Ever 2Line Cordless Phone WHEN NEW

I am a telephone technician since 1978. I've seen thousands of cordless phones in most every manner of design and performance. I originally purchased my phones sometime in 2002 and for 5 years AAA Excellant performance not one problem, with batteries or charging base. Who'd expect a rechargable battery to last 5 years. Even after one of the extensions was left in a robe and machine washed was dried and worked with minimal distortion not so much with other extenions that got wet. After 5 years of problem free performance phoblems with the charging base even after replacing the batteries. Probably oxidation and or ac/dc transformer voltage reducer. The options of customizing the two line access in any configuration, ringing, pick-up, monitor, paging, ring tone, naming, and a host of other ...

  • LOVE this phone system, even though it's been discontinued by Siemens!

I love this phone system! I realize that this model has been discontinued, but I have purchased additional handsets on eBay and even purchased a back-up base unit in case I ever need to replace mine, which I've been satisfied with for more than eight years. Great features and easy to use, too!

  • My Solution To Gigaset 8800 Charging Problem

I too discovered that it was difficult to get these cordless phones to sit in the charger properly after owning them with no problem for a long time. The problem, I believe, is in the weight of the battery. When I first replaced the NiMh rechargeable batteries on one of my phones, I bought batteries rated at 2650 mAh. This is when the problem with the charger starter occurring (I used the shim solution before I realized it was the battery). It occurred to me a heavier battery would change the balance and make the phone sit incorrectly. When I had to replace the batteries for my other handset, I bought a battery of 2500 mAh rating. It sits in the charger just as good as new. The 2500 mAh AA battery weights 1.0 once. The 2650 mAh battery weighs 1.1 once.
