The scanner is easy to use and works out of the box. No set up is required except to choose the options for film type and resolution. The loading of slides is a bit fiddly but that's the same for all of them. The scanner needs a memory card to store the pictures and this is NOT supplied but is not very expensive. The scanner DOES NOT send the scanned pictures to the computer so you must store them on the memory card then upload them separately. You will need to use a computer with a card reader, which most laptops have. We used a card from a digital camera so we could put the card back into the camera and upload the pictures from there. For the cost this is a great way to digitise your slides or negatives and I would recommend the product.
