Really good for the price, lots of tonal options, VERY light

For the money, this is a really nice bass, especially for a first bass. I think it looks great in person, it's really very light, and it offers tonal options so varied it gets downright confusing (just trying to turn all the volume off was a lengthy exercise in trial and error). The boost knob is a particularly sweet addition for a bass of this price. I also had none of the usual "cheap guitar problems" involving the tuners being garbage or the frets being uneven or poorly dressed -- no sharp fret edges cutting my hand when I slid up or down the neck. In short, good playability, good looks, good comfort, good tones. So, why did I ditch it in just a month? This Ibanez made me enjoy the switch from guitar to bass so much that I quickly upgraded to a Fender Precision. Does the Fender play better? Yes, noticeably so, but at 5x the price. It's also quite a bit heavier than this Ibanez. In fact, I loan the Ibanez now to the guitarist who forced me into a bass role whenever he wants to dabble on bass for a few songs.

poor factory Q.C makes me QQ

first guitar arrived with a busted knob, returned.Replacement arrived with all pickups loose, and i mean very very loose. the screws were visibly above the pickups.I decided thats about as good as factory quality control would get and tightened everything else myself.ibanez claims these models are tuned and ready to go out of the crate, this is untrue. The guitar itself is a beautiful and lovely sounding instrument when it is properly set up.

  • Good purchase

I got it for $155.00, it was like new, in the original box with manufacturers information and guide, all of the help wrench, never opened. Has a good tone, but will need setup attention. The G string was set real low and the others were at the same height, fret edges aren't super smooth but not bad. I am not a bass player, mostly guitar, so this will work until I get better.

  • You can’t go wrong.

The finish was very nice. The “boost” feature is a great feature. The tone exceeded my expectations Played much better than my previous bass at half the price.

  • Well Done!

For a low $ bass this one is hard to crowd. All of my other basses are fretless. I needed a bass with frets for a recording project. This one is easy to set up, easy to play and it sounds great. you can get a wide verity of sounds very easily . Did I mention the thing is just beautiful. replaced the strings with some Rotosound's, You can get a better bass for sure but at this price it is hard to beat!

  • Good Bass

It’s a beginners bass with the fit, finish and sound of much more expensive basses. I put on a set of Rotorounds and the sound is killer.

  • Worth the Price

I had my eye on this particular model for some time. It was less expensive than my other basses but I like Ibanez and I liked its finish. I immediately replaced the standard strings with Fender flat wounds. A big improvement. With the included accessories it was a really good deal.
