Considered a must-own for PS2 fans for a reason
While TM:B certainly shows its age in many places, it has a highly unique bleak vibe that stands out from other games in the genre, and the gameplay is incredibly fast-paced and tense, much more hectic than most other games in the series, with low time to kill meaning you can never get too comfortable standing still. The cutscenes are cheesy and try too hard but I wouldn't trade them for anything, the characters have interconnected stories that still stand on their own, and the over-the-top edginess is part of the charm. It's ugly in a way that thematically really works, and it really does stand out against other games on the system.
