    Installed new system onto it and it works fine

    It took a bit of work but it was worth it. I took a chance and was rewarded with a working kindle fire. I use it to watch Netflix, YouTube, listen to audio books and read books. Oddly enough the new rom does not do well with a kindle reading application so I use FBreader which does well. I'm happy with it.

    Waste of money

    Even though it's cheap it really isn't worth it. The UI is awful, just a shop window for amazon, completely lacking in even basic customization. You can get better specced cheap Chinese imports for less that offer a better user experience. I bought this in mistake for myself and gave it to my kids as soon as it came. They only use it when the batteries are done on everything else.

    Everything I want, nothing I don't!

    Hooray! NO Camera, NO microphone, NO Alexa! I was very unhappy when my beloved old Kindle Fire (3rd generation, 2013) stopped working. I ordered the current 7 inch Fire Tablet, and disliked it intensely; it wouldn't let me control the apps that showed on the home screen; I had to put electrical tape on the !@#$% cameras and mic (I like my privacy), and make sure that Alexa didn't reactivate when there was a software upgrade. It also feels cheap. I was delighted to find an identical replacement for my old tablet. No fuss, no camera, no microphone, no Alexa. I love it.

    Top-notch e-reader with solid features
