Great Pump for the Price
This is our 2nd Hayward Power-Flo pump. Our first one lasted for 11 years! It actually still works, but it has a slow leak in the seal, so instead of fixing it, we got this one. Plus, it's a 1.5 HP where as our first one was 1.0 HP. It was easy connecting to the pool, and it is working like a charm. It is quiet and strong. Good pump
I bought this pump as a direct replacement of my original pump. It is a good pump for the price. The only issue I have with this pump is the "O" ring design on the basket strainer cover, it lasts only a year or so even if you lubricate it per the manufacturers instructions. It ends up leaking!!! keep plenty on hand. But basically a good strong pump. Also make sure pump does not run dry or cavitate with air, the seal will be damaged and leak.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Bought as replacement for sp1515
I bought this hoping it was a direct replacement for my existing pump. Oddly enough, my old pump died one day after this arrived. It was as easy as replacing batteries. Used this pump for years third one in 17 years, kept the old one as a back up
I purchase this same pump 17 years ago and the first one lasted for 8 years, I replaced this and another 8 years went by and at 2018 it was still going, however I replaced it as a back up because of a total renovation of our pool which is 12 by 28 with a 7 ft deep end. I put a timer on it to run only 6 hrs. a day. and I would suggest buying a tube of Jacks lube around $7.00 or more. for lubing around the pump filter cover. Also I would suggest buying an extra pump o ring for the cover also. Sometimes where the cover and o ring is after a while the o ring gets old and starts to leak and suck air, which you will see in the pool and at the pump when it is off. A very minor fix, sometimes just adding Jacks lube around the o ring fixes it and eventually simply replace the o ring and apply the lube on the o ring and you will be good to go. For the price and what you get it is sure worth it. One more thing I always remove the pump and store it in the basement. Has always worked for me. If you plug this in always use a GFI protected outlet and ground the pump also, there is a screw in the back of the pump motor for this. So in reality I still have one new pump in service for the new pool. and keeping the old one for a back up. So two pumps in 17 years. Northern Lower Michigan.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Flow Rate but....
Really moves a lot of water. Easy connect and setup. One problem. No switch. It's a pain to plug and unplug while holding hoses and/or connectors for vacuum etc.. I plugged in the remote control outlet I use for outdoor lights and it works great.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
