    VHII remastered...hmmm...

    Personally, I find the remastered version to be overly compressed...The CD sounds very good, but it lacks the broader dynamics of the original recordings...i.e., in comparison to the original LP and CD transfers that I have, this remastered version is both a much louder mix and much more compressed sounding. Be that as it may, the mix doesn't bother me much, cause when I throw it in the CD player it is still VH II...one of the great hard rock LPs of the late 70's and one of VH's absolute best...thus it is terrific fun and one brilliant collection of rock 'n' roll.

    Before there was Sammy there was Dave

    Van Halen 2nd album solidified their assault on taking over the world in the late 70's. Eddie Van Halen was the best guitarist in the world and Dave was Dave at his best. "Dance the Night Away" was their 1st radio hit. Only one cover, a smokey version of Linda Ronstandts "You're no Good". Solid songs like "DOA", "Light up the Sky" and "Beautiful Girls" make this a must for Van Halen fans.
