Great Lens
I love the lens, but I do wish that vibration reduction was included. Also I have only used zoom lenses and because this one is prime and have to get used to moving constantly to make sure I'm in good focus position. You do get those nice blurry backgrounds with this lens.

Better than the Sigma, Fast, Durable and Sharp
This is the top of the line nikon F mount portrait glass. It's incredibly sharp, much lighter than the competition, and focus is quick and silent. It hasn't left my camera since I got it
I am an amateur photographer learning new skills all the time. I knew I wanted to upgrade my lens but, I was confused about which one to get. Every other photographer boasted about the 70-200 lens and I. Any lie, it's a nice lens but I wanted a lens that offered incredible sharpness with amazing bokeh that not everyone was using. It took a couple of months of research and I found this. At first, i wasn't sure i would like working with a prime lens but, I haven't taken it off my camera yet. I love this lens so much, I kiss it when I put it in my case. Haha kidding but, I can't even Express how beautifuly bright the results are and the creamy bokeh is amazing. Awesome lens!
One of the few fast lenses I have that is actually usable at max wide open. It does get better (actually awesome) stopped down, but starts out quite good. The other important factor is that AF accuracy is good enough to encourage use at or near wide open. I did not have to input an AF fine tune even on a high mileage D800 and D3s.
