A great Fondue Pot for cheese, chocolate, broth or oil fondue cooking
This is a great fondue pot. My prior pot was an enamel one with six skewers that was heated by a liquid fuel. It was hard to control the temperature and mixtures often burned on the bottom (Ugh). This Cuisinart unit is easy to use and the temperature control is very easy to regulate. I went to a crazy fondue party and we had three different pots. I was responsible for the Cheese Fondue and it was a huge success. No burnt cheese and very little left at the end of the night. I hand washed mine but you are supposed to be able to wash the entire unit (less temp control and power cost) right in your dishwasher. The pot has a non-stick coating which is a bit weird since the skewers are metal and sharp. Be careful with the skewers so you don’t scratch up your non-stick surface. The Cuisinart manual included recipes but I suggest the “Essential Fondue Cookbook” by Erin Harris for some great recipes and information. Make sure whatever electric fondue pot you purchase has good temperature controls. BTW…the Cuisinart comes with 8 skewers instead of the usual 6 others supply. Also, you can use an extension cord with the Cuisinart unit, but the extension cord must be rated the same as the Cuisinart. **Make sure that the extension cord is located to minimize and tripping hazard.
