The firewire 400 port works perfectly with the Tascam FW-1082 audio/MIDI interface & control surface works great with it after installing the driver, and Audacity 2.2.2 works well for recording through it. Lifesaver after my radeon-based iMac24 suffered from a video card issue, now I can seamlessly get back working.
